Football Game Preview: Batavia Bulldogs vs. St. Charles North North Stars

The Batavia Bulldogs will head out to take on the St. Charles North North Stars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Batavia is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Lake Park 42-21 on Friday. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Lancers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Batavia's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Preston Brummel, who rushed for 125 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. Those two rushing touchdowns gave Brummel a new career-high. Batavia also got help from Brett Berggren, who showed off his sure hands for 94 receiving yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Batavia was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 245 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, after only ten points in their last game, St. Charles North made sure to put some points up on the board against Wheaton North on Friday. The North Stars put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 34-12 victory. That looming 34-12 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the North Stars yet this season.

Batavia better keep an eye on Aidan McClure. He was instrumental in St. Charles North's win, picking up 93 receiving yards and one TD.

Batavia's record now sits at 3-1. As for St. Charles North, their record is now 4-0.

Batavia took their win against St. Charles North in their previous meeting back in September of 2024 by a conclusive 45-21 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
