Soccer Game Preview: Hinsdale Central vs. Glenbard West

The Hinsdale Central Red Devils will venture away from home to face off against the Glenbard West Hilltoppers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hinsdale Central's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Hinsdale Central gave up the first goal on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over York. That's two games straight that Hinsdale Central have won by just one goal.

Avery Edgewater and Emily DiTomasso scored both of Hinsdale Central's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 12 goals.

Meanwhile, Glenbard West hasn't lost a match since April 19th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Thursday. They put the hurt on Nazareth Academy with a sharp 5-0 win. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Glenbard West's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while Nazareth Academy are ranked 103rd).

Hinsdale Central is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Glenbard West, their record is now 9-3-4.
