Soccer Game Preview: St. Laurence vs. Oak Lawn

St. Laurence has won three straight games at home, while Oak Lawn has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Vikings will welcome the Spartans at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

St. Laurence's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Bloom as they made off with a 4-0 victory. Considering St. Laurence have won nine matches by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Oak Lawn had just enough and edged out Richards 1-0 on Tuesday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Oak Lawn's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 131st, while Richards are ranked 310th).

Oak Lawn's one-goal win came courtesy of Jonathan Garc?a, who's now up to six this season.

Oak Lawn's win bumped their record up to 11-4-4. As for St. Laurence, their victory bumped their record up to 17-2-4.

St. Laurence beat Oak Lawn 2-0 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
