Volleyball Recap: Syracuse Comes Up Short

Syracuse was the 2-0 winner over Wichita County when they last played one another back in September, but their luck changed this time around. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Indians by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. While the Bulldogs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Indians 25-19 in the first set.

Syracuse started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-14, 25-18.

Wichita County was led to victory by Katelyn Price and Cele Baker. Price had seven digs and five aces, while Baker had five digs and two aces. What's more, Price racked up 16 assists, the most she's had over her last six matchups.

Syracuse's loss dropped their record down to 17-10-2. As for Wichita County, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-15.

Looking ahead, Syracuse is taking a road trip to challenge Hoxie on Tuesday. As for Wichita County, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Stanton County on the 11th.
