Volleyball Recap: Mountain Valley Wolves vs. Creede Miners
Mountain Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Creede Miners. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolves of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.
Kandra Pollard paced Mountain Valley's offense, picking up three kills. Pollard got some help from Shauna Pollard and her seven assists. Milley Knight controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Among those leading the charge was Lexy Mead, who had 17 assists and two aces.
Mountain Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Creede, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Creede wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Norwood on the 23rd. Hopefully Mountain Valley paid attention to the Miners' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Miners at 11:00 a.m. on September 5.
