Soccer Recap: Austintown-Fitch Comes Up Short

After flying high against Boardman on Tuesday, Austintown-Fitch came back down to earth. The Falcons fell just short of the Howland Tigers by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Austintown-Fitch can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 191st, while Howland are ranked 21st).

Austintown-Fitch now has a losing record of 4-5-1. As for Howland, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Austintown-Fitch will venture away from home to challenge Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Howland, they will head out to take on Canfield at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Howland's defense better be ready for this one: Canfield have averaged an impressive 3.5 goals per game this season.
