Big Game from Stocks As Mt. Zion Won 42-10

Starting off the list is Mt. Zion's Keller Stocks, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Stocks threw for 235 yards and four touchdowns while completing 84.6% of his passes, and also rushed for 51 yards on only six carries.

For the year, Stocks has thrown 18 touchdowns while averaging 192.3 passing yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 0.86 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 50.57 rushing yards.

Mahomet-Seymour Wins Fourth-Straight Thanks to Lucas Dyer

Mahomet-Seymour picked up their fourth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Lucas Dyer. Effingham had no answer to Dyer as he threw for 331 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 13.8 yards per attempt.

Effingham had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Dyer it was a similar story. When Dyer last faced the Hearts back in October of 2023, he threw for 350 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 14.6 yards per attempt.

Cale Kimbro Has Career Rushing Day

Cale Kimbro posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Friday. He made 19 total tackles and defended a pass.

Mattoon's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. Kimbro and Mattoon will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Marion at 7:00 p.m. on October 25th.

A Season-Best Performance from Kaden Becker Leads Mt. Zion over Charleston

Kaden Becker produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Mt. Zion to the win on Friday. Becker rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, and also picked up 30 receiving yards.

On the season, Becker has run in those 1 touchdown while averaging 24.4 rushing yards per game.

Taylorville Gets a Boost from Odam in 21-7 Victory

Rounding off our Top Five is Baron Odam of Taylorville. Odam rushed for 68 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 92 yards and a touchdown.

On the season, Odam has thrown 12 touchdowns while averaging 160.4 passing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after seven games last season, he was only averaging 4.57 passing yards per game.
