Basketball Game Preview: South Gwinnett Comets vs. Newton Rams

South Gwinnett hasn't had much luck against Newton recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The South Gwinnett Comets will face off against the Newton Rams at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Tuesday, South Gwinnett narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Heritage 65-63. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Comets.

Meanwhile, Newton posted their biggest victory since December 10, 2024 on Monday. They blew past Whitefield Academy 70-35. Winning may never get old, but the Rams sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Newton's win bumped their record up to 15-3. As for South Gwinnett, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-8.

South Gwinnett might still be hurting after the 60-39 loss they got from Newton when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can South Gwinnett avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
