Volleyball Recap: Five Straight Home Wins for Poly

There's no place like home for Poly, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They blew past the Arleta Mustangs 3-0 on Wednesday. The Parrots haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

While Poly won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-22, 25-13.

Leandro Juarez paced Poly's offense, picking up 14 kills. Juarez got some help from Jao Libunoa and his 31 assists. Juarez also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Sebastian Fernandez, racking up two apiece.

Poly's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-8. As for Arleta, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-13.

Coming up, Poly will head out to square off against Panorama at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Arleta, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Grant at 4:30 p.m. on the 23rd.
