Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Atkins). Their defense stepped up to hand the High Point Central Bison a 10-0 shutout on Thursday. Atkins' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last six matchups.

Their offense was hitting High Point Central from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Charlise Grimes led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by herself.

Atkins has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up three goals over those eight games. As for High Point Central, they dropped their record down to 1-10-3 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.
