Softball Recap: St. Michael Cardinals vs. Bagdad Sultans

After a string of six wins, St. Michael's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They lost 11-1 to the Bagdad Sultans. St. Michael was red-hot at the plate headed into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the six matchups prior) but Bagdad's pitchers proved too tough.

For Bagdad's part, Nuvia Jauregui made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and only one hit while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. Jauregui has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in six consecutive pitching appearances. Jauregui was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-4 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI.
