Softball Game Preview: Afton Knights vs. Greene Trojans

The Afton Knights will face off against the Greene Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Afton has given up an average of 8 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Afton came up short against Bainbridge-Guilford on Thursday, falling 15-6. The loss continues a trend for the Knights in their meetings with the Bobcats: they've now lost six in a row.

Meanwhile, Greene entered their tilt with Sidney on Thursday with three consecutive wins dating back to last season, and they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victors by a 20-13 margin over the Team.

Having lost for the first time this season, Afton fell to 4-1. As for Greene, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.

Afton suffered a grim 21-5 defeat to Greene when the teams last played back in April of 2023. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
