Basketball Recap: North Putnam Cougars vs. North Montgomery Chargin' Chargers
North Putnam lost against North Montgomery back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The match between the North Putnam Cougars and the North Montgomery Chargin' Chargers didn't end well, with the North Putnam Cougars falling 67-50. Despite the loss, North Putnam still got an impressive performance from Kaden Helderman, who shot 50% from the field on his way to 16 points along with six assists and five boards. Helderman continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Chase Barber was another key player, putting up 11 points.
Kelby Harwood was his usual excellent self, going 12-for-16 en route to 29 points and eight rebounds for North Montgomery. The dominant performance also gave Harwood a new career-high in shooting accuracy (75%). Another player making a difference was Cameron Enlow, who posted 13 points.
North Putnam's loss dropped their record down to 6-17. As for North Montgomery, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-13 record this season.
