Softball Recap: Union Starts off Right with Win over Dixie

Union gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. Everything went their way against the Dixie Flyers as the Union Cougars made off with a 7-0 victory. The Cougars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Flyers, too.

The team relied heavily on Drew Kesler, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kallie Duncan, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Union was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .478. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dixie only posted a batting average of .143.

Dixie's loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-2.

Coincidentally, Union and Dixie will both be playing Beaver the next time they take the field. Union will head out to face Beaver at 5:45 p.m. on Friday, while Dixie will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
