Softball Game Preview: Orem Tigers vs. Mountain Crest Mustangs

For the second straight game, Orem will face off against Mountain Crest. The Tigers will take on the Mustangs at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Orem will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Orem is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Mountain Crest 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tigers have posted since March 18th.

Kiley Hoshnic spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Sadie Groneman was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI. Cheyanne Wells also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Orem kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in 16 consecutive games.

Orem's victory bumped their record up to 18-11. As for Mountain Crest, their loss dropped their record down to 15-14.
