Softball Recap: East Islip Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact East Islip can now relate to. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Smithtown West on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Redmen in their meetings with Smithtown West: they've now lost three in a row.

East Islip's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Smithtown West, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 15-7.

While East Islip had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
