Recap: Port St. Joe Tiger Sharks vs. Franklin County Seahawks
The Port St. Joe Tiger Sharks struggled with offensive rebounds on Saturday (the Franklin County Seahawks had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Port St. Joe was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 53-52 to Franklin County. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Port St. Joe in their matchups with Franklin County: they've now lost eight in a row.
Despite the defeat, Port St. Joe saw an underclassman step up: Zay Jenkins scored 17 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Jaden Jenrett, who scored eight points.
It was another big night for Ethan Kembro, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds for Franklin County. Jamichael Miller was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with nine rebounds.
Port St. Joe's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Franklin County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Port St. Joe will stay at home for another game and welcome Wewahitchka at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Wewahitchka has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 21. As for Franklin County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chipley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
