It was a good run, but Letcher County Central unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Pikeville Panthers by a score of 6-5. The Cougars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 13-3.

Letcher County Central saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Katie Combs, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Letcher County Central's loss dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Pikeville, they moved to 6-13 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Letcher County Central will challenge Jenkins at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Pikeville, they will take on Magoffin County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
