Basketball Game Preview: Minto Lakers vs. Cook Inlet Academy Eagles

The Minto Lakers just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Cook Inlet Academy Eagles at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Minto came up short against Nenana and fell 53-40. The Lakers haven't had much luck with the Lynx recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jena Smith, who posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Naomi Fox, who scored ten points.

Meanwhile, Cook Inlet Academy faced Shaktoolik in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Cook Inlet Academy had to suffer through a 75-16 loss at the hands of Shaktoolik. The game marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Minto now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Cook Inlet Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.
