Softball Recap: Cross County Thunderbirds vs. Palestine-Wheatley Patriots        
        
		
            
 There's no place like home for Cross County, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road  last Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Palestine-Wheatley Patriots on Thursday as the Cross County Thunderbirds made off with  a  14-4 win. This was payback for Cross County, who suffered  a  14-11  defeat the last time these two teams met.
 For Palestine-Wheatley's part,  Emmaleigh Spencer made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of  Shelby Fowler, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-2.
 Cross County's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Palestine-Wheatley, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost three of their last four matches,  which put a noticeable dent in their 8-3 record  this season.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cross County will take on Buffalo Island Central at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. As for Palestine-Wheatley, they will be playing at home against Hazen at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday.
