New Bern put the hurt on Havelock with a sharp 3-0 victory last Thursday. Given New Bern's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while Havelock are ranked 238th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Haley Sensenig and Sophia Porter scored all three of New Bern's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 14 goals.

The win made it two in a row for New Bern and bumps their season record up to 6-2-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two contests. As for D.H. Conley, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

D.H. Conley took their win against New Bern in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 8-0. Will D.H. Conley repeat their success, or does New Bern has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
