Baseball Game Preview: Burrillville Broncos vs. Johnston Panthers

The Burrillville Broncos will head out to take on the Johnston Panthers at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. Burrillville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

Burrillville is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: East Greenwich, who was ranked 20th at the time (Burrillville was ranked 13th). The Broncos came up short against the Avengers on Tuesday, falling 8-1. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Broncos couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, Johnston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cranston East.

Johnston saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Bracey, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Johnston's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Burrillville, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.

Burrillville came out on top in a nail-biter against Johnston in their previous meeting back in April, sneaking past 6-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Broncos since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
