Timothy Lapointe leads a balanced attack to beat Oakland-Craig

The Winnebago Indians can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They snuck past Oakland-Craig with a 56-52 win. That's another feather in the cap for Winnebago, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Winnebago's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Timothy Lapointe, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. That makes it three consecutive games in which Lapointe has scored at least 25% of Winnebago's points. Santonio Nieman was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.

Oakland-Craig's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaak Maxwell, who scored 18 points. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for Maxwell. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylon Anderson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds.

Winnebago's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Oakland-Craig, they bumped their record down to 2-4 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Winnebago will be home for the holidays to greet South Sioux City on Saturday. As for Oakland-Craig, they will head out on the road to face off against Wisner-Pilger at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Wisner-Pilger is ranked 215th, while Oakland-Craig is ranked 201st).
