Baseball Game Preview: Kingwood Park Panthers vs. Weiss Wolves

The Kingwood Park Panthers will square off against the Weiss Wolves on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Kingwood Park sitting on seven straight victories and Weiss on 12.

Kingwood Park is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past Santa Fe 5-4. That's two games straight that the Panthers have won by just one run.

Garrett Koshkin looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Kevin Rios was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Nicholas Slonaker also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

The team relied heavily on Jessie Hernandez, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Jordan Benjamin, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Kingwood Park's record now sits at 28-7-1. As for Weiss, their record is now 22-6-2.
