Softball Game Preview: Tascosa Rebels vs. Plainview Bulldogs

Tascosa hasn't had much luck against Plainview recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Tascosa will host Plainview at 4:00 p.m. Plainview took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Tascosa, who comes in off a win.

Last Tuesday, Tascosa beat Coronado 8-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rebels.

Christmas Morris spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single walk, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in February.

At the plate, Kassidy Langeland was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Tinslee Mena, who went 1-for-2 with five RBI.

Meanwhile, Plainview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 11-1 to Lubbock. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bulldogs have suffered against the Westerners since March 1, 2018.

Jakhai Gomez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Plainview's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Tascosa, their win bumped their record up to 15-16.

Everything went Tascosa's way against Plainview in their previous matchup back in February, as Tascosa made off with a 9-1 victory. Will Tascosa repeat their success, or does Plainview has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
