Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Natalie Petty and Ali Maddux Lead Hillcrest to Victory

Hillcrest won the last time they faced Skyline and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Knights put the hurt on the Grizzlies with a sharp 3-0 win.

Leading Hillcrest to victory were Ali Maddux and Natalie Petty. Maddux had 22 digs and six aces, while Petty had 22 assists and eight digs. Those six aces gave Maddux a new career-high. Mylee Sapp also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Hillcrest was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in five consecutive matches.

Hillcrest is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season. As for Skyline, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 14 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-23 record this season.

Hillcrest didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Idaho Falls on the 21st. Skyline does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
