Kenton is a perfect 3-0 against Ottawa-Glandorf since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Wildcats will look to defend their home field against the Titans at 5:30 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Kenton has struggled recently with six losses in a row, while Ottawa-Glandorf will arrive with three straight wins.
Last Saturday, Kenton didn't have quite enough to beat Lima Central Catholic and fell 6-4.
Macee Heckathorn made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Brayla Butler was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Ottawa-Glandorf had just enough and edged out Miller City 7-6 on Monday.
Allie Sonnenberg spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits.
On the hitting side, Abby Giesige was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Hailey Leopold, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.
Ottawa-Glandorf kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive games.
Ottawa-Glandorf pushed their record up to 4-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Kenton, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Kenton has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Ottawa-Glandorf struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Kenton took their victory against Ottawa-Glandorf in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 15-5 score. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Titans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
