Softball Recap: Fountain Lake Takes a Loss

If Fountain Lake was riding high fresh off their 18-1 takedown of Maumelle Charter on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cobras came up short against the Mount St. Mary Academy Belles on Thursday, falling 11-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Belles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-5 back in March.

Ellie Johnson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, two triples, and three runs.

Fountain Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Mount St. Mary Academy, with the win, they broke their nine-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-13.

Looking ahead, Fountain Lake will head out to face off against Bauxite at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Mount St. Mary Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Little Rock Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
