Basketball Recap: Davies Career & Tech Takes a Loss

Davies Career & Tech was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 54-53 heartbreaker at the hands of the Ponaganset Chieftains. The Patriots were not able to make up for their defeat to the Chieftains from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Leading Ponaganset to victory were Luke Pierre-Louis and Gabe Mongeon. Pierre-Louis went 8 for 15 on his way to 19 points, while Mongeon went 5 of 9 en route to 14 points and five boards. Pierre-Louis is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Randy Myers was another key player, putting up six points.

Davies Career & Tech's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Ponaganset, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4.

Davies Career & Tech has already played their next match (against Case), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Ponaganset will head out to challenge Prout at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Prout's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 contests.
