Basketball Recap: Eminence Comes Up Short

Eminence lost against Clay City back in November of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Eminence Eels took a 47-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clay City Eels. Eminence has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Eminence saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Khloee Kirk posted 22 points. Sophia Saucerman was another key player, putting up ten points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Clay City to victory, but perhaps none more so than Taylor Rhienhart, who put up 11 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kam Rhodes, who had eight points and eight rebounds.

Eminence's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Clay City, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-6.

Eminence wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 55-20 win against Irvington Preparatory Academy on the 10th. As for Clay City, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 44-26 defeat against South Putnam on the 10th.
