Baseball Recap: Leuzinger Comes Up Short

Leuzinger fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against St. Bernard on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the St. Bernard Vikings by a score of 5-4. The Olympians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Having lost for the first time this season, Leuzinger fell to 2-1. As for St. Bernard, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Leuzinger will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Centennial on March 20th. As for St. Bernard, they will square off against Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Bernard's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
