After both having extra time off, the Bethel Wildcats and the Cheshire Rams will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bethel will be strutting in after a victory while Cheshire will be coming in after a defeat.

Bethel will head into Saturday's matchup after some sweet revenge against Stratford: Bethel couldn't quite topple Stratford back in October, but it was still a huge improvement compared to the three-set loss they took when the two last played. Everything went Bethel's way against Stratford as Bethel made off with a 3-0 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Wildcats have posted against the Red Devils since September 25, 2015.

Bethel never let Stratford on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-23, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Cheshire didn't have quite enough to beat Sacred Heart Academy last Monday and fell 3-2. While the Rams didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the 25-21 in the first set.

Cheshire started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 20-25, 25-16, 25-23, 15-9.

Lauren Kilpatrick put forth a good effort for the losing side as she had three digs and two aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in September.

Even though they lost, Cheshire was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 11 aces in four consecutive games.

Bethel is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-12 record this season. As for Cheshire, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-10.
