Football Recap: Cabrillo Gets the Win

If Taft wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Cabrillo, they should've done a better job of containing Andre Brisco. The Conquistadores breezed past the Wildcats to the tune of 62-7 on Thursday with plenty of help from Brisco, who rushed for 235 yards and four scores on only 15 carries. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 141 rushing yards.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Baraceros, who gained 137 total yards and two touchdowns. His longest rush was for an incredible 72 yards.

Cabrillo's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Taft, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Coming up, Cabrillo will take on Pioneer Valley at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. The Conquistadores will be up against the Panthers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 40.25 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Taft, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Shafter at 7:30 p.m. on October 3.
