Baseball Recap: Rialto Knights vs. Grand Terrace Titans
Rialto dropped their record down to 12-7 on Friday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins at home. They fell 5-1 to the Grand Terrace Titans. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Titans this season, with their most recent defeat being a 9-2 loss on Wednesday.
Rialto saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aydin Ayala, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. Jasson Cota also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
As for Grand Terrace, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-11. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games.
On Grand Terrace's side, Colton Caldwell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits. Caldwell has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Jesse Medina was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ezekiel Jahen, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
