Softball Recap: Brimfield Extends Home Winning Streak to 16

Brimfield won the last time they faced Delavan and things went their way on Thursday too. The Indians put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 10-0 win. Considering the Indians have won six games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Kendyl Binder, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Layni Linthicum, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Brimfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Delavan only posted a batting average of .118.

Brimfield's victory was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Delavan, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Brimfield will square off against Havana at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Indians 1.9, the Ducks 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Delavan, they will challenge Astoria/VIT at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
