Basketball Recap: Durant Takes a Loss

Durant was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Palmetto Tigers and fell 83-45. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 532nd, while the Tigers are ranked 117th).

When it comes to explaining why Durant lost, don't look at Nathan Moore. Despite the final result, he posted 12 points. Those 12 points gave Moore a new career-high. Ariel Muniz was another key player, putting up seven points.

Durant's loss dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Palmetto, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Durant didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-49 defeat against Booker on the 20th. Palmetto has also already played their next matchup, a 49-39 win against Winthrop College Prep Academy on the 20th.
