It's playoff time, and Kirbyville had no trouble coming through when it counted. They put the hurt on the Woodville Eagles with a sharp  12-2 win on Saturday. Considering the Wildcats have won 17 contests by more than six  runs this season, Saturday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Jacie Roden made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out seven batters over  four innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   four  hits. That's the most  strikeouts  she has posted since back in February. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with two  doubles and one  RBI.
 In other batting news, Kirbyville got a  massive  performance out of  Emilee Denz, who  went 3-for-4 with three  stolen bases, three  RBI,  and one  run. Another player making a difference was  Sydney Wheeler, who  got on base  in all four of her plate appearances with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  double.
 Kirbyville  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Woodville only posted  an  OBP of  .333.
Kirbyville is  on a roll lately: they've  won 13 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-6 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Woodville, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-18 record  this season.
Kirbyville will have a chance to go back-to-back against Woodville: the pair will be back at it again later today.
