Baseball Game Preview: Belpre Golden Eagles vs. Trimble Tomcats

The Belpre Golden Eagles will challenge the Trimble Tomcats at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Belpre will be strutting in after a victory while Trimble will be coming in after a defeat.

Belpre will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Saturday, then bounced right back against Federal Hocking on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles blew past the Lancers 11-1.

The team relied heavily on Carson Moore, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was AJ Copen, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Meanwhile, Trimble didn't have quite enough to beat Southern on Tuesday and fell 5-3. The Tomcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Belpre now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Trimble, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Belpre couldn't quite finish off Trimble when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can the Golden Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
