Basketball Recap: Summerfield Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

If Summerfield was feeling good fresh off their 55-9 takedown of Sand Creek last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Summerfield Bulldogs fell 44-33 to the Bedford Kicking Mules on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 150th, while the Kicking Mules are ranked seventh).

Summerfield's defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 9-4. As for Bedford, their victory was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1.

The future could be bright for both Summerfield and Bedford: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Summerfield will look to extend Britton Deerfield's 12-game losing streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Bedford will try to hand Huron their third-straight loss when the two meet at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
