Spectrum and Mayer Lutheran pushed the score to 17-5 the last time they played Mayer Lutheran, but on Friday defenses reigned supreme. The Sting's pitchers stepped up to hand the Crusaders a 1-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-5 back in April.

The victory made it two in a row for Spectrum and bumps their season record up to 11-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Mayer Lutheran, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.
