Softball Recap: Hale Ray Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

Hale Ray hadn't done well against Berlin recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Noises sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over the Redcoats. For the Noises, this counts as revenge for the 10-8 win the Redcoats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Lily Jahne spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Briella Dean was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Dean is crushing it when it comes to RBI: she's brought in at least three every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Faith Kalisz, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-4.

Hale Ray pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Berlin, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Hale Ray wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 9-0 victory against Westbrook on the 11th. As for Berlin, they have also already played their next match, a 15-3 win against Edwin O. Smith on the 11th.
