Softball Recap: Lewiston-Porter Takes a Loss

Lewiston-Porter fell victim to Lockport and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 17-0 to the Lions. The Lancers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Lewiston-Porter saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alyssa Dashineau, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Lewiston-Porter and nudges their season record down to 1-3. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 4-0 North Tonawanda (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 75% over those games). As for Lockport, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Looking ahead, Lewiston-Porter will head out on the road to challenge Grand Island at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lancers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 9 runs per game this season. As for Lockport, they will take on North Tonawanda at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Lumberjacks will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight.
