Football Recap: Salado Picks Up Third Consecutive Win + How To Watch

Salado waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They strolled past the Wimberley Texans with points to spare, taking the game 23-9. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 59-28 win the Texans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Luke Bingham had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 135 yards and one TD while picking up 7.5 yards per carry.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Salado was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 217 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 181 rushing yards in four consecutive contests.

Salado didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Hays Ramsey led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. Damonte Foster is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least nine every time he's taken the field this season. Salado got some further help from Luke Bauser: he made ten total tackles (1.0 for loss).

Salado's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Wimberley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

Coincidentally, Salado and Wimberley will both be playing Jarrell the next time they take the field. The Texans will host the Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Eagles will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on the 24th.
