Football Recap: Eagle Valley Devils vs. Palisade Bulldogs
Eagle Valley fell victim to Palisade and their airtight defense on Thursday. They were beaten by the Palisade Bulldogs 43-0. That makes it the first time this season the Devils have let down their home crowd.
Keaden Lake threw for 109 yards on only ten passes.
Malachi Barros was his top target, picking up 55 receiving yards.
Easton Embrey was his usual excellent self, rushing for 196 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries for Palisade. Embrey also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, defending a pass and snagged an interception. Cade Carter was another key player, rushing for 90 yards and two touchdowns.
The loss snapped Eagle Valley's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-4 record. As for Palisade, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
Eagle Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Palisade, they will welcome Glenwood Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Palisade knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Glenwood Springs likes a good challenge.
