Baseball Recap: Eastern Wayne Takes a Loss

Eastern Wayne lost to SouthWest Edgecombe back in March and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Warriors lost 22-1 to the Cougars.

Eastern Wayne's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for SouthWest Edgecombe, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Eastern Wayne will venture away from home to take on North Johnston at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season. As for SouthWest Edgecombe, they are taking a road trip to face off against North Pitt at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.75 runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of.
