Softball Recap: Gurdon Starts off Right with Win over Glen Rose

Gurdon had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victor by a 9-2 margin over the Glen Rose Beavers on Monday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Go-Devils as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Sadie Griffin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Gurdon got a massive performance out of Mikaela Bradshaw, who fired off four doubles, three RBI, and one run while going 4-for-5. The dominant performance gave Bradshaw a new career-high in doubles. Another player making a difference was Hannah Furr, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gurdon will face off against Spring Hill at 4:30 p.m. on March 10th. As for Glen Rose, they will square off against Bismarck at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
