Basketball Recap: Telos Takes a Loss

Telos was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were outmatched by the Monticello Buckaroo and fell 76-41. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Telos of the 74-41 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.

Monticello got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cache Young out in front who went 9 of 10 on his way to 22 points and eight boards. Young continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Pehrson, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards.

Telos' loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Monticello, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Telos wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 82-32 defeat against Whitehorse on the 14th. As for Monticello, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-37 loss against Milford on the 14th.
