Football Recap: Kadence Land Key Part of Team Effort in Falcons Win

East River won the last time they faced Colonial and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Falcons put the hurt on the Grenadiers with a sharp 24-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead East River to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kadence Land, who threw for 163 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 34 yards. Land has become a key player for the Falcons: the team is undefeated when she posts at least three passing touchdowns, but 2-4 otherwise. Brooklyn O'Gallagher was Land's top target, picking up 64 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

East River didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Gabriella Acevado, Addison Riley, Jasmine Allen, and Zariya Johnson picked up one apiece. Acevado got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

East River now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Colonial, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.

East River didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 6-2 win against Hagerty on the 3rd. Colonial has also already played their next contest (against University), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
