Preview: Germantown Academy Patriots vs. Friends' Central
The Germantown Academy Patriots will head out on the road to face off against Friends' Central at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Germantown Academy had to start their season on the road on Saturday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of Cardinal O'Hara by a score of 64-61.
Meanwhile, Friends' Central entered their tilt with Haverford School with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Friends' Central sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 68-65 victory over Haverford School on Tuesday. 68 seems to be a good number for Friends' Central as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Friends' Central got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Muhsin Muhammad out in front who scored 19 points. The game was Muhammad's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Reid Belcher, who scored 16 points.
Germantown Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Friends' Central, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Germantown Academy might still be hurting after the 67-45 defeat they got from Friends' Central when the teams last played back in December of 2021. Can Germantown Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
