AAAA Region III recap October 22, 2013
York extended the longest winning streak in AAAA Region III this week by beating Nation Ford, 66-24. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Cougars.
York took down the Falcons 66-24 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Nation Ford's Dalton Helms and Brandon Cureton have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Helms has thrown for 1,789 yards this season, while Cureton has 34 catches for 783 yards. Josh Brice from South Pointe leads the league in rushing with 550 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Northwestern and Bobby Carroll's team. The Trojans comes into the matchup ranked first in the state, while the Cougars ranks fourth.
Clover made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,749 from 5,873. The advance stemmed from a 42-21 victory over Lancaster last week.
